JUNE ZOOM DISCUSSIONS FOR MOUNT LAUREL LIBRARY

 


June 10     FILM FORUM: THE AFRICAN QUEEN    Director John Houston took Kate Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart on location in the Congo to shoot this classic adventure/romantic comedy in which a gin-swilling riverboat captain is persuaded by a strait-laced missionary to use his boat to attack an enemy warship during the first world war.  Stream on Kanopy, Amazon, Apple, or Vudu.

June 14  POETRY DISCUSSION: “ON WINGS OF WORDS: POETRY WITH BIRDS.”  Many poets through many generations have been fascinated by feathered songsters, and this month we’ll look at their ornithological verse.  As usual, a small packet of poems will be sent out with the zoom invitation so you can have the texts handy during our discussion.
